Nayeli Vega Vargas

Nayeli Vega Vargas is an artist and a designer. She completed her Master's degree in Textile and Material Design at the weißensee school of art and design berlin in 2020. Her master's thesis focuses on understanding ancient textile artifacts for recording information, analyzing the use of computational practices and digital fabrication, and producing encrypted narratives through knots.

In her current research, Vega Vargas investigates the links between digital and analog mediums, such as virtual 3D worlds and physical objects, and practices such as knotting and weaving with digital crafts. Her research is supported by Berliner Chancengleichheitsprogramm (BCP) within the Department of Textile and Material Design at weißensee school of art and design berlin.
