Hannah Schmedes

Hannah Schmedes is currently finishing her Master’s in European Media Sciences at the University of Potsdam. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Sciences and Philosophy from the Leuphana University of Lüneburg, with a thesis on Donna Haraway’s Cyborg.

Her research interests include Feminist Media Studies, Feminist Theory as well as Science and Technology Studies. Her recent projects explored the correlation of biological and technological narratives concerning extraterrestrial colonialism and symbiosis.

Furthermore, Hannah Schmedes is part of the theory collective texture, where she organizes reading groups, workshops, and discussions. She currently runs a feminist writing workshop that deals with Wikipedia's publishing and interface policies.

At Matters of Activity, Hannah was a student assistant for the Weaving project from October 2019 to February 2021.
